CREATIVE CRITICAL REFLECTION 2
HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCE ENGAGE WITH AUDIENCES AND HOW WOULD IT BE DISTRIBUTED AS A REAL MEDIA TEXT?
My art and fashion magazine engages with my audience in a few different ways. Since my audience is younger and more hip having a non convention magazine could relate to my audience more I tried to make it more relatable. Because not everyone fits into conventions so why should a magazine have to as well. This will bring in more artists and more alternative people giving me a basis for my magazine to work off of.
When doing research for distribution models and different magazines like mine, I found that a lot of the magazines have both a tradition distribution through newsstands and local businesses as well as an online distribution.
For my traditional distribution plan I would get my magazine distributed by a company called CircSense Marketing & Publishing Solutions. they are a distribute that is based out of Miami Florida. This distributor will do direct mail management, planning and execution; insert cards strategy and design; budgets and circulation forecasting; AAM/BPA circulation and USPS audits; rate-base management; renewals and billing efforts; fulfillment management; newsstand distribution management; public place distribution; controlled circulation; timely and management-friendly reporting; source analysis; custom publishing; and much more. My magazine would then be in these smaller bushiness and grocery stores. I could reach out to local stores and art exhibits and get my magazine to be put in their store as well.
Online distribution would include an online subscription, sneak peaks online, access to editions before they are sent out, an online version of the magazine and an online mailing service. This would allow for more people to sign up for my magazine, because some people are more internet associated rather than paper.
